RED RIVER HOUSE This modern pavilion on the Red River north of Winnipeg is sited in an open grass field. The emphasis is on transparency and light, and the project employs minimal internal walls to create a fluid, open and connected spatial experience. Perimeter decks wrap the floor to ceiling glass walls presenting sites that follow the sun for living outdoors. Materials are subtle and subdued, with a strong commitment to minimal and repeating details. With spaces of simple surfaces, efficiencies accrue to the project through careful planning, clear channels of movement, and precise areas and proportions for concealed storage and domestic infrastructure. Continuity of the organizational matrix is intended to provide an overarching sense of contemplation, retreat and regeneration. |
